Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve put together answers to the questions we hear most often. If you can’t find what you need here, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
General Questions
We work with individuals, young people, and organisations. Our services cover diagnostic assessments, workplace needs reports, coaching, and training. We support people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and other learning differences.
Yes. We offer both in-person assessments in East Sussex and online assessments for clients across the UK. The format depends on the type of assessment and your preferences.
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us — whether you are self-referring, a parent or an employer.
Assessment Questions
It varies by service:
- Diagnostic Cognitive Assessment – usually 2–3 hours
- Holistic Diagnostic Assessment – 3–5 hours (may be split over two sessions)
- Workplace Needs Assessment – 1.5–2 hours
We’ll confirm the format when you book.
A screening is a short process that indicates whether certain traits or learning differences might be present.
A full diagnostic assessment provides a detailed profile, formal diagnosis (where applicable), and practical recommendations for support.
Our reports are clear, easy to understand, and include:
- A summary of assessment results
- How these results relate to real-world challenges and strengths
- Recommendations for education, work, and daily life
We do not provide a formal medical diagnosis of ADHD or autism. Instead, our Holistic Diagnostic Assessment offers a comprehensive evaluation of learning differences (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia) alongside autistic and ADHD traits.
As part of this process, we can provide a provisional diagnosis of ADHD or autism, in line with DSM-5 guidance. This means we identify when traits strongly suggest one or both conditions, while also making clear that a full diagnostic conclusion requires a specialist pathway.
The outcome still provides practical value, with tailored recommendations that can inform workplace adjustments, education support, and everyday strategies, ensuring you benefit from guidance even before pursuing a full diagnostic pathway.
Yes. Our Diagnostic Cognitive Assessments can provide the evidence schools need to apply for exam access arrangements such as extra time, a reader, or rest breaks.
Workplace Support Questions
No. A Workplace Needs Assessment focuses on your role, strengths, and challenges. A diagnosis is not required to make recommendations under the Equality Act 2010.
Examples include:
- Assistive technology (e.g., speech-to-text software)
- Flexible working arrangements
- Communication and task management strategies
- Training for managers and teams
Young People & Families
We work with children from primary school age through to early adulthood. Services for young people are delivered through our dedicated brand Think Possible Futures.
Yes. We provide:
- Exam access arrangements evidence
- Teacher training on neurodiversity and inclusion
Yes. Parents or carers are welcome for most parts of the assessment, especially when giving developmental history or helping the child feel comfortable.
During certain assessment tasks, it is usually better for the assessor and child to work one-to-one. We can discuss this with you beforehand to agree on what will work best for your child.
Absolutely. We are an inclusive, affirming service. We recognise that neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ identities often intersect, and we provide a safe, respectful environment for all clients.
