Who it’s for: Children and young people whose parents or teachers are seeking a complete understanding of their learning, developmental, and neurodivergent profile.
Purpose: To explore learning differences alongside traits of autism and ADHD for a comprehensive view. This includes consideration of dyslexia, dyspraxia (Developmental Coordination Disorder), dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. Testing confirms which neurotype or combination of neurotypes best reflects the young person’s profile. A holistic assessment can also provide a provisional diagnosis that can be shared with a GP to support referral for further specialist assessment to confirm ADHD or autism.
What to expect:
- Developmental case history interview with parents and carers to build a full picture of background and experiences
- Standardised testing for learning, attention, and related areas
- Where needed, explore ADHD or autism traits in detail
- Clear explanation of findings, showing how traits interact and affect schoolwork and daily life
- Practical recommendations for strategies, classroom support, and exam adjustments
- A full diagnostic report for parents and teachers, plus a child-friendly report so the young person can understand their own profile
- A report that can be used as evidence when seeking referral for further assessment or potential medical treatment, where relevant
- Signposting to additional support, including referral to medical practitioners if appropriate
Why it matters: A holistic approach helps secure the right educational support, builds confidence, and gives young people and their families practical strategies for success. It ensures recommendations are highly tailored to their strengths and challenges and provides evidence to support access to further clinical pathways if needed.
