WHO IT IS FOR

Young people with an identified neurodivergent profile

WHO IS INVOLVED

Parent-led, with flexible young person involvement

Sessions can involve the parent, young person or both, depending on age, needs and what will be most useful.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

A personalised Think Possible Plan

Approximately 8–12 pages bringing together understanding, strategies and practical next steps.

WHEN MIGHT THIS HELP?

When the Diagnosis Is Only the Starting Point

Understanding that a young person is neurodivergent can explain a lot, but families are often left with a new question: what does that mean for this particular child, and what might actually help?

Understanding themselves

Helping the young person build an age-appropriate understanding of their own strengths, needs and patterns.

Everyday demands

Exploring areas such as routines, transitions, organisation, emotional demands or managing expectations.

Learning & school

Understanding what may help with learning, workload, communication, sensory demands or participation in education.

Finding what actually works

Moving beyond generic advice to develop approaches that fit the young person and family in real life.

WHAT CAN WE WORK ON?

Support Built Around the Young Person

There is no single neurodivergent experience, so the programme is shaped around what is most relevant for the young person and family.

UNDERSTANDING

Making sense of their profile

Helping the family and young person understand strengths, needs and why particular situations may feel easier or harder.

ROUTINES & ORGANISATION

Making everyday life more manageable

Developing realistic approaches to routines, planning, remembering, getting started and managing changes.

EMOTIONS & SENSORY NEEDS

Recognising needs earlier

Exploring emotional and sensory patterns, early signs of overload and practical ways to support regulation.

EDUCATION

Understanding what may help at school

Considering learning, communication, workload, independence and other educational demands where relevant.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Three Sessions, Personalised to Your Family

1

Before we start

A parent questionnaire helps identify the young person’s current strengths, needs, challenges and the areas you most want support with.

2

Understand the patterns

We explore what is happening across the young person’s everyday life and identify the patterns or underlying needs that may connect different difficulties.

3

Develop strategies

Together we develop and refine practical approaches that fit the young person, family and situations that matter most.

4

Your Think Possible Plan

The work is brought together into a personalised written plan with clear strategies and practical next steps.

WHO TAKES PART?

Flexible Involvement

Young people vary in how much they want, or are able, to engage in a structured conversation. The programme is flexible so support does not depend on the child sitting through three adult-style sessions.

PARENT-LED

The parent can lead the sessions

Particularly for younger children, sessions can focus on helping parents understand the patterns and develop practical ways to support their child.

YOUNG PERSON INVOLVEMENT

They can join in ways that suit them

A young person can be involved for part or all of a session where this is useful and comfortable for them.

FLEXIBLE ACROSS SESSIONS

It does not have to look the same each time

Who attends can vary across the programme depending on the topic, age of the young person and what will be most helpful.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Your Personalised Think Possible Plan

The programme ends with a practical written plan so the family has something useful to return to after the sessions have finished.

UNDERSTANDING

The important patterns

A clear summary of the young person’s strengths, needs and the main themes identified through the programme.

STRATEGIES

Practical approaches that fit

Personalised strategies for the areas explored, designed around the young person rather than a generic checklist.

NEXT STEPS

What to focus on going forward

Clear priorities and suggested next steps for home, education or other relevant areas.

Approximately 8–12 pages

The Think Possible Plan brings the programme together in one clear, personalised resource.

SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT

Need to Bring School Into the Conversation?

The standard programme focuses on the young person and family. Where direct consultation with school would be helpful, this can be added separately.

For an already identified profile

The programme starts from the understanding that neurodivergence is already relevant and focuses on what that means in practice.

NOT DIAGNOSTIC

It does not provide a diagnosis

ND: What Now? is a structured support programme rather than a diagnostic or cognitive assessment.
